Concreting of 5 silos

As part of the large McInnis cement project in the Gaspé Peninsula, Cegerco obtained the mandate for the concreting of 5 concrete silos located on the production line.

The challenge is daunting, since the silos have been continuously concreted using sliding formwork. The site logistics had to be designed to allow, for almost 8 weeks, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, regardless of the weather, to have the workforce on site and required materials.

This is approximately 4,560 m³ of cement poured for the construction of the 5 silos with a height varying  from 26 m for the smallest, up to 74.7 m for the 3 clinker silos.

An impeccable communication plan in real time was the key to success.
